Thor entry step

Any one have problems with there electric steps grinding, well mine did today so I pulled the motor off and the entire worm gear is plastic and the gear plate bolt is broke off, I called Thor service in wakarusa ind. and the motor is 379.00 but the tech told me to look on Amazon the lci part number 163669 and Amazon had it for 46.00 same part, the bolt I had to get from etrailer for 20.00 but some bright engineers welded the end of the bolt to the nut so the whole step has to come off
