Auto Steps

I have a Challenger 2015 the auto steps stop working. They went out and stayed out. I’d like to check the fuse first. Could someone tell me where it might be located, I have no idea. Thanks in advance.

To see if the steps are still working, try starting the RV and put it in drive which will override the on/off switch and retract the steps (safety feature).
If the above works, then the autoretract has been disabled by the switch. There is an unmarked switch next to your Awning light switch (probably also unmarked) that shuts off the auto retract/extend of the steps which may have been accidentally turn off. (Also assume you did not put the "Use/store" switch in the Store mode...)
I hope this helps

Step switch has 2 positions. 1st- Steps open and close with the door. Ignition on or off.
2nd-When the Door is opened with ignition off, the steps extend and remain in that position until ignition switch is turned on.

Step controller uses a magnetic switch in the door frame to determine door position.

Fuse location varies, some have fuse under the steps or look for loose connection there. Another Fuse is usually in chassis fuse panel, not coach.

I have a Thor 37rb 2018. My rear steps went out and would not retract. I had to disconnect them and wire them up I went to the dealer and they said the connection was dirty. they just cleaned it up and put some electrical grease on and replugged it in everything is fine now. Hope this works for you

The contacts in the door hinge area need polished a couple times per year

Crocus cloth or a dollar bill or very fine Emory cloth
