Thor Fourwinds 31C Hot Water Heater woes

We cannot seem to get hot water going... the camper was professionally winterized / de-winterized. Everything works, but all we get is a "spurt" of hot water in the faucets/shower, then nothing but cold.

Tested on propane and 110v.

Is there a good guide I can follow to check my valves? The manuals were of no help.

Thanks!

FW28Z posted a good diagram on the below Forum link in regards to the bypass valves positioning which may be of help to you. Scroll to the bottom of the post on the 1st page to find it.

Have you verified the hot water tank is filling with water? You can do this by connecting to a city water source and then opening the pressure relief valve on the water heater. Be careful because the water could be hot.

Page 137 of the 2014 version of the owner's manual has a diagram of the by pass valves. In normal use the valve handles on the two lines going into and out of the tank should be in line with the hoses. The handle on the by-pass line (line running between the two hoses) should be perpendicular to the line.

The diagram in the manual shows all three valves open. For normal use the valve on the by pass line should be closed.

Often times when a dealer de-winterizes they do not place the valves in the operating position.

Thanks!

That diagram did the trick... I have the 2013 manuals and there is no diagram (or the dealer didn't give us one).

All fixed!
