Thor Rear Emergency Exit Window Latch

The latch on our 2016 Thor Windsport is flimsy and does not hold the window closed securely, which means it does not seal well. Does and rain comes in while driving, despite the fact that the gasket is in good condition. Has anyone figured out a good upgraded latch or better way to secure this type of exit window?

Being a 2016 it probably is just a victim of age and use. Can you shim it somehow temporarily where the latch folds over or in the cam mechanism? I would just order a new latch assembly and replace it. Can you post a picture of what type locking mechanism it is and how it flips/folds over to secure?

I believe the latches are all pretty similar, they use very small screws to fasten and they eventually strip. Replaced the little screws with small stainless bolts and washers. Very solid now and closes tight.

Thank you both for the replies. Ottosails, I took your suggestion of replacing the little screws with a small bolt and nut and it is much more secure now. Thanks!
