Am I understanding

Inexperienced Palazzo operator asking a heating question
On a recent outing we were in need of some heating. I found one thermostat control operated heat. So since only one unit provided heating and circulating air then only one unit provides heat- correct

I also found that when hot air stops coming from registers the blower motors continue without cycling off at desired temp

Question: operating correctly

On my previous RV I had a dual thermostat control. I don't remember which zone, #1 or #2 it was but only one zone controlled heat.
The furnace blower will continue to run but should shut down when the furnace cools down.
Do you have the fan in the auto or on position?

Yes.
The furnace has two squirrel cage fan systems one is for the burner (combustion wheel) and one is for air circulation (blower wheel). The burner fan is controlled by the wall thermostat. The air circulation fan is controlled by an internal snap switch set at 80 to 85 degrees. When the internal temperature of the heat exchange hits 80-85 F degrees, the air circulation fan comes on and remains on until the heat falls below 80-85 degrees. The thermostat has no direct control of the air circulation fan.

Our Challenger also has one thermostat for heat. The blower will run for a while after the furnace heat stops. Sounds like you're normal.

on our Palazzo, and similar to most any 'dual' thermostat RVs, only the 'top' thermostat operates the FURNACE, even though both thermostats are identical, unless on some longer/larger units, which actually DO have two furnaces - and some do.

The object of the thermostat setting is to limit it to 'AUTO' only on the Fan Mode. If you accidentally leave the Fan Mode in either 'Low' or 'High', you are going to have the AIR CONDITIONER fan running - not what you want. Leave the Fan Mode always in 'AUto' when you are not using the Air Conditioners, and only want to use the Furnace. The furnace has it's OWN fan controller, you have nothing to do with controlling that - it cycles on BEFORE the firing of the furnace, and stays on well AFTER the furnace fire goes off - all completely normal and REQUIRED. You don't want hot air sitting in the vent system, you want it pushed all out, including any gasses after the furnace is no longer firing.
