Thor Venetian Door Latch Replacement Help

Ok sooooo.... my entry door latch broke... not there mechanism but the handle broke into two ( don't ask me how that happened smh). I got the new one already, and in the process of putting it in but I'm stuck. My door handles are not back to back but are connected by metal rods and in order for the rods to connect to the new door latch they would have to go through these metal things attach to the old latch. I would take them off but they seem to be welded on there. So, I'm at a loss.... anyone knows what to do? Thanks!!

Those "metal things" are likely riveted on there and rotate with the rod movement. Seems the new latch should already have those attached,

Do you already have the new replacement unit? If not I would wait to verify it is a direct replacement and see if those threaded pieces are already attached to the new handle.
