Tire pressure question

According to the Michelin chart, I ought to carry 80 PSI all around. How exact does that really need to be? Say I have 80, 86, 82, 84 etc; is that close enough? If the steering tires are 3 or 4 psi different, does that affect handling?
Trying to do it right, just not sure what an acceptable tolerance would be.

80 all around has worked for me, ride is great and wear seems to be normal.

As far as difference per tire, you shouldn't notice the minimal difference as even if they were identical they will change due to temperature just setting.

If your 31K is built on an E-450 chassis with E-rated LT225/75R16 tires, you shouldn't exceed 80 PSI because that should be the maximum pressure rating for those tires. To confirm this information you can look at it on sidewall of tires, where it shows the tires highest approved load and highest pressure.

Of course, pressure is set at ambient temperature, and will go up when tires heat up. Having said that, I would not inflate to 84 or 86 PSI cold at all.

My 31K is on the F53 chassis and those Michelin tires are rated at 120PSI max. I'm just trying to find out how close to exactly even all the tire pressures need to be. Plus or minus one, plus or minus three? What is an acceptable tolerance range?

I have a digital gage and spend a few minutes longer to set them all where they need to be at exactly 80 by my gauge. if they wanted 83 they would of said 83...

Tire pressures

my Michelins are 80 lb max.I keep them at 80 because it gives me the best ride.I use Tire pressure monitor system so I can always tell the pressure and temps. As the tires heat up while driving the pressure will also rise. They don't all rise to the same pressure and temps due to the different weights on each tire. The tires are made to handle this.So to answer your question ,I don't think a couple of lb difference in your tires matters as long as you don't exceed their cold pressure limits.

Check first thing in the morning or late evening, preferably out of the direct sunlight, inflate to appropriate pressure. If your concerned about temp increases drop the pressure 3-5 degrees, it's not rocket science, a couple pounds +/- won't hurt a thing.

I keep all mine as close to 80 psi as possible. No more than a pound or two difference. But I'm anal about stuff like that.
