TMPS settings for class C

I have a Thor rw28 and purchased a off brand TMPS with 6 sensors. How do I figure out the upper and lower levels to set in the system if I use the recommended 75psi front, 80psi rear setting from Ford?

Jeff

I'd use 5 psi lower than cold and 10 psi higher than cold to start. If you travel a lot inn the heat you may have to bump the upper alarm higher.

TST recommends 20% above and 10% below the cold inflation pressure. That's probably a good enough rule of thumb.

I bought a cheap chinese version which works but is a pain to setup. I'd go with another version like the EZTire. You can spend quite a lot on a TMPS system but it's worth it.

Thanks. Good point. I just want to have something that is reliable. Amazing where we try to use bargains in areas that are sometimes more critical.

I found with my RV that 20 percent above was right at the pressure I'd see on a hot day so I biased up a few pounds.

I use one of the more expensive TPMS systems and here are the parameters for alerts for that system. To the best of my knowledge, I cannot change these parameters.

Pressure loss of 3 PSI or more in less than 2 minutes.
Pressure loss of 6 PSI or more in 2 to 10 minutes.
Pressure loss of 15% or more of the baseline pressure.
Pressure increase of 20% or more of the baseline pressure.
Internal tire temperature of 167°F (75°C).

Mine too and I’ve found t the 15% range from base to over pressure to be barely adequate. I’ve always had to adjust my base to about 5 lbs over my actual cold pressure. Works great.
