AXXERA AV615BHM Radio Replacement

The original AXXERA AV615BHM in my 2017 Quantum RQ29 recently died, would not reset. After reading many forum posts regarding the quality of that radio, I decided to replace versus repair. With very little fuss I was able to work with a live US based Crutchfield tech. I ordered a Kenwood DDX5707S which was a perfect fit. It has CD/DVD and is Apple/Android compatible. It said it only supported 1 camera so I also ordered an intelligent 4 camera switch. I decided to go the professional installation route since I had previously worked with a local car audio shop that also has RV expertise. I was pleasantly surprised when the installer told me the RV already had an intelligent camera switcher which even bigger surprise was a quality brand that they were familiar with. So I was able to return the Crutchfield ($80) camera switcher, again with no fuss or cost to me. More good news, this unit does not have the annoying feature of lowering volume when you hit the turn signal that many of you had to find a hack for. Funny thing, the back up grid would show on the screen for the mirror cameras, but that can be turned off with one click in their on screen configuration. Crutchfield sent extensive install documentation along with a number of FREE install accessories that I ended up not needing and returned. So, I highly recommend Crutchfield. They will walk thru all options to find what fits your rig. I could have gone with more expensive radios with more features but this one fits the bill. Two trips so far and its working great. And as for DIY installs, up to you. The installer told me it was fairly routine but that removing the dashboard is a bear, no other hitches.
