I can appreciate the concern. One of the main reasons we bought our coach is to snow bird and the level of advanced planning required means sometimes driving in snow. Our coach and toad were white with salt yesterday but we drove through a nice warm rainstorm today and Iím confident that the fresh water got everywhere the salt water did and Iím not going to worry about it! Looking forward to a sunny couple of weeks!!

Actually We are about 20 miles north of the border.. Rural area in a small town.. A lot calmer with less chance of border "conflicts"..

OP here. Good grief! We went 1100 miles southwest of home and its 25 degrees with freezing rain and wind today in Texas! Weíre here for a few more days while DW is an extra in a movie (shooting outdoors today - Iíll bet sheís frozen by now!! I think Iíll have to take her out to dinner tonight). Moving still farther south on Friday. Sheesh!

Tie a Winter jacket to your grill, and head South.
When somebody asks you what that funny-looking jacket is used for: THAT's where you stop!

They are predicting hi of 37 and low of 23 on Monday the 15th in San Antonio. Other than than that day, they are predicting highs in the low 50s and lows in the mid 30s. We have the frontal gust already. After all, Texas produces 19% of its electricity with wind turbines which is 24.2 % of total US wind power production.

Get south of Austin and things will 'warm' up. NWS is predicting freezing rain/snow/sleet for Austin Sunday night into Monday with a high around 33.

We live in SE Texas about 40 minutes from the Louisiana border. They are predicting ice/sleet/snow here on Monday. They are suggesting we might have a repeat of the ice storm we had back in 1997. We have lots of trees in our neighborhood. They are mostly big oak and pine trees. During the 1997 ice storm we had no power. At night we could hear the tree branches snapping from the weight of the ice, and then the shower of ice as the limbs fell. We could only hope and pray the branch wasnít going to land on our roof. There was a terrible car pileup in Ft. Worth this morning. Several people were killed. Iím praying for them and their families. Be careful during your travels. Stay safe, and stay warm!

Thank you. Itís not what we planned for this trip but itís an adventure for sure. That pile up is not far from where we are staying this week but tomorrow is supposed to be better, if still cold, for our travel.

Keep in mind...
We are at Rio Hondo, TX (Twin Palms). The forecast lows for Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday will be in the low 30's down to the high 20's.
btw.. Rio Hondo is about 25 miles north of Mexico, 15 miles west of the coast

Well this is just getting ridiculous. 1500 miles south from our home in Indiana and itís unposed to be 12 degrees with ice and snow on Monday! We were doing ok at mid 20s in Alvarado but itís going to be really hard to keep warm at 12 degrees. And weíre paying resort prices at that!! Oh well, weíll get through it and weíre ďmaking memoriesĒ! Its finally supposed to get back to normal in time for us to leave.

Well this officially is a snowbird adventure! Just outside of Corpus Christi Texas and itís 17 degrees with high winds and ice. And the campground power went out at 0400 today. They are unable to refill our propane tanks so weíre hoarding what little we have left. DW is a trooper but she has just about reached the up with which she can put! But 70 degrees by Sunday when we are scheduled to go home. Sheesh!!!

We woke up to ice and snow here in SE Texas. It just finished snowing again. I know the electricity is out in parts of Houston, on Galveston, and on the Bolivar Peninsula. Fortunately we still have power where we live, but we are also sweating our propane running out in our RV. We have the thermostat set to 49į, but it is still running a lot. At least we are warm in our house. I canít imagine how miserable yíall must be! Good luck!

At least you can go somewhere where it might be warm, up here in Canada we cannot cross the border unless you have unlimited funds ( have your MH towed across the border and then take a flight to pick it up). Look on the bright side its getting warmer , here its just snow and cold for at least another month and maybe more. Gives you a chance to use your genny !!!!!!!!!!!!

Havenít seen the dog since yesterday. He burrowed under a blanket and has no interest in peeking out. But weíre ok. Campground power came back on a while ago and with two space heaters we can stay on top of it (never mind that the governor said to limit electric use). Iím mighty glad I added that second electric circuit last summer. Itís a ďrecreational activityĒ, itís a recreational activity, itís a recreational activity.....

Yes indeed. All sorts of ways this could be worse. Generator fired right up at 0500 and ran a max load without a hiccup for about 4 hours before the CG power came back. Hoping to find a mobile propane fill.
