Polish/Scratch removal

I have a Miramar that has full body paint. There are some light scratches on the side where I brushed against a tree limb and I’d like to try to polish it out. What would you suggest I use? Do I use a marine/ fiberglass or a auto type polish? These are on the side of the MotorHome not the front or rear cab. While we are at it would you use something different on the front and rear cab? Thank you. Any input is appreciated.

I have has good luck with the "Chemical Guys" products. There newest is V34 Optical grade hybred compound. I can't say I have used it, but I use and like three stage cutting and polishing system on my cars.

I am using the Meguiar’s One Step Compound with a DA Polisher and getting fantastic results.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do like Meguiars products. My only question is do I use fiberglass products like marine/RV or auto products as if it is a painted automobile. Thanks again.

Depends on the surface. If it paint - then car products; if it gel-coated fiberglass - then boat products. Gel-coat is generally harder and thicker thus requires a more abrasive polish. Small scratches usually do not show up in gel-coat, while swirl scratches in darker colors of automotive paint require a very fine abrasive.

It is listed as full body paint. I’m thinking the sides would be treated as automotive and the front and rear caps would be treated as fiberglass. Does that sound correct?

If in fact it is full body paint I would treat it all as “automotive”. The whole thing probably is fiberglass but since it’s then painted your finish treatment won’t care what’s under the paint. Rather like a Corvette.
