We had that problem. Without anything extra running we were tripping the GF just plugging her in. Too much for the house system to manage and the ultimate solution was to have a 220 line installed so no more dogbones to bring it down. That solved our problem.

Sounds like you solved your problem by eliminating the GFCI circuit.
