Paint radius on roof

From what I understand the roof on motorhome is one of two materials.
Approximately 6 inches of material on both sides of the motorhome is painted black from the drip cap up , black to match color scheme.
After a few hail storms , paint on roofing material has peeled off in spots up and down both sides of MH.
Cosmetic but looks like crap.
I found an old thread 2017 about clear paint ?
Advise , insurance claim or pay out of pocket.
Anybody else have this happen to them ? FIX ? 2015 Thor Palazzo 33.

I would get an estimate first and base a claim or not on that. I've always been of the mindset that insurance is for catastrophic issues only...not cosmetic. Insurance may not even pay for it. If you call them, they may "start" a claim which will stay on your record even if you don't use them, so get your estimate first then decide which way to go.

Thanks Gritz,
My thoughts exactly on insurance.
As far as paint goes , with temp swings 20° below to mid to high nineties I am thinking the paint that was used does not handle expansion and contraction.
Any ideas on a different paint ? I can't afford to pay for indoor storage, around $ 400 bucks a month here. Don't want to paint again in a couple of years.

Post a picture or two of what you have...someone will chime in with all the answers...great forum, great folks here with a wide spectrum of knowledge. Paint is not one of my specialties.

I'm not sure about Insurance regulations in Colorado; but paint damage due to hailstorms would be covered here in New York.
Call your Broker, and see what they have to say about it.
(Better to just be out the deductible: than the entire cost!)
Good luck!
