TV problems

Mr Obvious would say, before you run off for help, check the menu on each TV, if it is set to Air/Antenna, you won't get any cable channels. Once you verify proper setting, do a new search for channels.

Just a stab in the dark, let us know how you get it resolved!

Which one? And do they all get OTA TV? What year MH? What brand TVs?

One TV may only be hooked up to the cable. It might supposed to be that way but someone may have forgot to connect everything.

I'm betting on the TV's not set to the correct input, then channel scan.

I spent the last 2 days chasing a similar problem but I could not get cable on any TV, do not use cable often but nice to have when its available. Discovered the wire from the connection on the coach(left rear compartment) to the splitter(left front bulkhead) was broken somewhere. It would not tone through. Decided to just pull new wire through the left front post down to the generator compartment and add a new box. Pulled 3 wire, one for cable and 2 for the Dish playmaker. going to test it all today. fingers crossed!

Another WAG is that Thor installed some really cheap TV's in the year model that I have and they would not scan cable tv, only OTA. I think the brand started with an S that I had never heard of, so replaced them.

I use a inexpensive tone chaser to verify that a signal is in the cable. eBay about 15 bucks.

Were any of your tv's made by Seiki? If so, that is your problem. We had a 2016 ACE 29.3 with Seiki tv's and had to switch them out while on vacation in order to get cable. You have to have a Smart tv or one with a QAM tuner in it. Thor used alot of these cheap tv's.

"Smart TV" has nothing to do with tuning either OTA or Cable channels.
Smart TVs are capable of connecting to the Internet.

I have Seiki's, three of them. When they start giving me a problem, I'll replace them but as of now, I can get cable, OTA, satellite, DVD through all of them.

We couldn’t get cable until we replaced the splitter box with a new one; very cheap to fix and only took a few minutes. The biggest challenge was finding the dang splitter box - ours was under the bed near the water pump!

Are all TVs the same make and model? One thing that I ran into is the Seikis installed in our coach (2017 Windsport) did not have QAM tuners. QAM is a digital standard that some but not all RV parks have converted to.


I replaced all my TVs with newer ones that support QAM.

My 2017 Vegas has 3 Seiki TVs. They work fine with off-the-air digital TV but not Digital cable. During our stay at Oceanlakes Campground this past Christmas I replaced 2 of the TVs with inexpensive Specter TVs from Walmart. The mounts were a little different on height so I had to adjust the mount over the door. At any rate the newer TV allowed me to get the 84 channels on the campground network.
