Underneath 2016 Thor Chateau 31e

Hey everyone. This is my first class c, just upgraded from a 21ft camper trailer. Bought this used 2106 Thor Chateau 31e and noticed this bar underneath the drivers side area. It’s attached with a rubber style strap that seems to be cracked. Can someone educate me on what this is?

Well…I’m only a “self proclaimed expert” on the site but on my coach it is an exhaust hanger for the generator exhaust. Mine has 2 - one as your picture shows and one farther back. IMHO I would replace the one you have. A quick Amazon search is probably in order.

Looks like an exhaust pipe hanger to me. Most gas coaches have the exhaust exiting from under the coach just in-front of the left set of duals. My coach has the hanger well inside the edge of the coach and a SS plate above it on the underside of the coach.

It's the exhaust pipe/hanger for your generator. From the looks of the picture your exhaust pipe could use a second hanger when you go to fix this hanger.

It appears to be the flexible exhaust hanger for the generator. This self professed expert says it's $20 on Amazon.

Thanx for the insight, I’m definitely going for that Amazon replacement 🤝

I can tell you the exhaust is far too low to be a "good idea". Somebody probably "fixed it" previously and did a poor job. It's just begging to be torn off on road trips hanging that low.

This is a typical failure point on the exhaust hanger. check link below, I replaced mine twice before i changed hanger to a more robust hanger bracket.
