USB charging station

Greetings one and all,

I have been wrestling with a bedroom charging station that has yet to work since I picked up my ACE in 2017. I see from reading here that it is a common failure, due to reversed polarity on the wires going to the charge station. Does the charge station pull out of the sidewall? If so, how? I'm a newbie to the RV lifestyle, so I would like to avoid breaking things by being hasty.

Thanks.

Dave- there are a couple of screws on the faceplate, remove them, then the faceplate and you can remove the USB chargers with the wire still attached. Very easy.

Thanks for the info. The faceplate I'm looking at has no visible screws, so I'm guessing there is a trim plate over it. Is this a snap on, or am I missing something?

Ours has a pop off trim plate with screws underneath. I also upgraded the usb sockets to 2.4 amp each or 4.8 amp per pair. You can get the usb sockets off Amazon, about $14 a pair or $28 to replace all.

Hi Dave; I bought an ACE less than 2 months ago, same problem. Brought it back to CW & they said it had been installed with the wires reversed! It took them all of five minutes to fix it & I haven't had any more issues with it. Hope this helps.

Same issue with ours. Bedroom didn't work.
The wires were in the wrong place.
They switched them around and it's working.

Can you share the parts you purchased on Amazon? I've been trying to replace my outlets but can't find anything that will work in this face plate.

Replace the whole thing:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZOG6TBE/

Did you verify the outlets were really bad and not just having the + and - leads wired backwards?

Yes, I already fixed the reversed wires last summer. Now they just don't work.

Install was easy. The wires on these aftermarket units are 100% better quality than what came from the factory.

Common mistake by Thor. This is our 2017 ACE bedroom outlet under the tv. The cover popups off and you'll see screws. This is how it should be after i switched the wires. 2 black wires to the white and 2 red to the grey wire.
