Use/Store switch doesn't seem to be working

With the RV not plugged in to power the interior lights work off the house batteries, correct? So when you push Store on the switch the interior lights shouldn't work, right? Mine still light up.

Correct - lights, awning should all be off

When I switch into or out of store mode, I hear a faint "clunk", which I take to mean that it is working. In store mode, there is no power to anything back from the console, and the radio/rear camera doesn't work either (I know that because I was thinking it was broken - then I realized I was an idiot) Andy

That's correct, the interior lights should go off when in the "store" mode. Mine do.

In theory anything powered by the house batteries should have no power when that switch is in the store position. Since I store plugged in, I always leave it in run.

Mine is a momentary contact switch, it doesn't click and stay in one position or the other. I assumed from that I should be hearing a relay click but I hear nothing.

Yes it is a contact switch, not positional, and yes you should hear the relay kick in or out.

Find the relay. It has a 5amp in line fuse that blows with frequency. The fuse is on the front of the relay.

Does it look like this?

It says 48v DC and 100 amps on it. It's right next to the 2 house batteries under the entry steps.

No. Looks like a starter solenoid. Probably find it close to where Breaker Panel is located. Mine is under bedroom mattress in compartment labeled "This is not a storage area".

Found the service panel. You say the solenoid is somewhere near it?

Likely behind it. It will be a cylindrical device with 12v cables attached plus a small wire in the switching circuit that contains the in line fuse.

Found the solenoid behind a panel next to the service panel. The fuse was blown. Changed the fuse and now I hear the solenoid clicking when the Store switch is activated. The problem still remains. House lights are still on. I made sure the house was not connected to 112v.

Glad you found the solenoid. don't know about the blue button as I don't have one. Best guess is your starting battery is now providing the power source for your lights. If you can, disconnect it, you'll then know for sure.

That looks like the 100 amp circuit breaker . Push the blue button and a "flag" comes out (looks like yours is yellow) which disconnects the batteries. There is one for the house and another for the starting battery (under the hood). Push the flag back up and it reconnects the batteries to the coach.

The fuse blew for a reason and it may have also tripped that breaker. Try opening and closing the breaker - pushing the blue bottom and then pushing the flag back in with the Use/Store in store and then turn it to Use and see if the fuse blows or breaker trips again. If so, you have a short somewhere. You want to be unplugged and off generator to fool with this.

Thanks Oneilkeys, I'll try that next.

If that blue button disconnects the house batteries, I can use that to isolate them when in storage, correct.

Yes. I do that for the house batteries. For the starting battery, I have a small solar panel that keeps it topped up. I just spent two months in a Europe and after using the disconnect, I still had 12.4v on the house batteries when I returned.

I pushed in the blue button and the yellow flag popped out. The house lights still work so they must be powered by the chassis battery. This is not a problem unless you accidentally leave the interior (house) lights on. The good news is that the Axxera radio is totally dead with the yellow flag out. I am sure that this is what was draining the house batteries. I'll leave Arvie (that's what we're calling her) unplugged from shore power for a few days and see if the house batteries are still charged. I love it when people add to the knowledge base.

Check back soon.

JB

Were you plugged in when the interior lights worked after you opened the 100 amp circuit breaker? In my Axis nothing works in the coach with the circuit breaker open and not on shore power.
