Thor Outlaw 38RE antifreeze siphon tube

I just poured 10 gallons of antifreeze into my clear water tank using a funnel. Spilled some and hope it doesn’t hurt the paint. I read elsewhere that there may be an antifreeze siphon tube somewhere. Does anyone know where this would be? I didn’t see anything resembling one in the wet bay.

The siphon tube you refer to is most likely a short piece of 1/2 inch clear poly tubing about 18 inches long. It may have a 1/2" threaded pvc fitting on one end that is threaded to a matching fitting on you water panel. If no water panel then there is most likely a fitting somewhere in the plumbing area that can be accessed. The open end is placed in the gallon jug and when the winterizing valve is opened and the pump turned on then the antifreeze is drawn into the system. At least that is how my last motorhome was winterized using the siphon tube that was included with my coach. Made winterizing a quick and easy process using about 2 gallons of antifreeze.
With my new Quantum I have to pour the antifreeze into the fresh water tank and then turn on the pump to distribute it to all the fixtures and tankless water heater.
I posted a thread on this earlier today looking for an alternative.

I forgot to mention the siphon tube is most likely a separate item and is usually not permanently attached. It should have been included with your owners manual and such. If you can't find it then locate where it connects to, take a picture of it to a hardware or home improvement store and they can fix you up with the fitting and tube to make your own, 2-3 pieces at most, less than $5.

Never put anti freeze in tour FW tank. Install this. If you don't have one, It goes between the pump and the FW tank.

What model do you have? In my RS26 they are under the dinette seat between the water pump and the water heater.

I understand many owners use the FW tank for this. Why do you suggest it not be done if the antifreeze is non-toxic and is flushed the following spring?

I just ordered the pump conversion kit. It’s foolish standing there pouring 15 gallons of anti freeze when you can use 1-2 and a pump converter. Hell, the cost of the kit is way less than the antifreeze I just poured!

Anyone know where the water pump is for an outlaw 38RE?

I’ll look tomorrow morning but it’d be nice to have a starting point.

Because you use 3X's as much antifreeze as needed and now you need to flush the FW tank Many many times to get it all out.

I'm with you there, I feel your pain. Last year I poured 2 gallons into my tank not knowing how else to winterize.
I just finished registering on the Thor Motorcoach.com website/Owner Resource page and found 4 pages of valuable info for my coach. In it I found the location of my winterizing valve and antifreeze inlet which was under the dinette seat at the water tank.
I had no idea there was so much info available specific to my model.
I suggest all Thor owners visit the site, register, and download or view the huge amount of info on file for your specific unit.
You will need the Thor VIN number to register. You can then download or view the schematics and engineering drawings for your coach that will pinpoint most everything you might need to locate!
Smartest thing I've done today!

Found it!

On my 38re there’s a valve in the wet bay that you turn to “winterize.” Then you can connect a short length of hose to the city input and dip the other end into the antifreeze jug.

Then just turn on the water pump and within seconds you’ll have pink flowing from spigots.

My rv took about 4 gallons to completely do 4 sinks, 2 toilets, 2 showers and the fridge.

Thanks all!
