today my new remco rebel water pump arrived to replace my rebel 55 jrv. i purchased a new remco aqua jet arv 55.
both of these pumps are black with red labels and are same size, except the new one has a larger base plate with the electronics stuff in it. its a variable speed and is super compared to the pulse on and off it replaced. even inlet and outlet are same quick fittings
anyway i have an hole about 11" high by 22"wide to reach trough to get to the pump. you know tons of room
so disconnect lines from old pump after bleeding off pressure and then use my small drill to remove the mount screws, and fish the pump out and around the other stuff ( pipes) and lay it on the floor next to the replacement pump. M
the new pump has same wire colors but they are shorter and has a built in fuse, ( you know the stuff you should notice right ) i decided to move pump closer to the access and re-routed a supply line easy enough and then i reach down and grab the "new" pump. remember its not well lit. so i get the pump in and wired back up and go to test it. BAM it works great, pressure builds up and it shuts off, no leaks. off i go inside to see if it truly varies the speed and no more pulsing or on off on off stuff. well it pulses, but not as bad and easily runs all the faucets. but still pulses on and off. so i feel let down.
i tell my wife, well its better but not what i expected based on the sales info.
i go back to the wet bay to look around, tidy up some wires and happen to notice the NEW pump on the floor..........then it hits me, i put the old pump back in, instead of the new pump
.:facepalm :,
so after another half hour of fishing my arms in the access i put the NEW pump in and wow it works so smooth no pulsing or on off on off stuff. moral of this story, PAY ATTENTION
