High power usage question

Hello and thanks in advance for any input/advice.

When I first connect my 29FE to a power source at my campsite I get a period of time…several minutes…during which my spike protector says I’m drawing 15+ amps even though almost nothing is turned on. Is there some device…maybe the power converter…that requires a “startup” procedure and may account for that?

That is most likely your 12VDC converter drawing power to charge the house batteries. Depending on how far the batteries were drawn down while off the grid will depend on how much current the converter pulls over time.
