Vegas windshield washer replacement-help
We have the 2015 vegas bad windshield washer pump . We want to change it ourselves.
Anyone has done this, does the pump just pop out easily?
We're not exactly nimble, so we don't know if we should unbolt the fluid reservoir and work on it at the workbench. Or, just pop out the pump, take in in to find a replacement, working from under the motorhome. How hard is it to get the pump out?
Any help appreciated.

I did it myself: It was pretty easy to remove. I believe I just unbolted the whole assembly. There really wasn't anything to "work on the bench" as I think the pump just pops right out when you have it off the camper.
It was a pain getting a wrench on the back of the bolts..that was about the most difficult task there was.

Thanks Jamie. I was hoping we could take the pump off without removing the whole assembly, but I guess not.

Jazzfest,
You can replace the pump without removing the tank. But, you do have to crawl under the front bumper to do it. Once under there just grab the pump and wiggle the sucker straight up and out. It will be stiff, but it will come out. Pull the electrical connection and tube to the washers, stick them on the new pump, and reverse the process to stick the new one back in.
Note that the pump mounts near the bottom of the tank. If the tank is full when you pull the pump you get wet.
Regards,
Randy

This takes you to an older post where I had a washer pump problem. It ended up being the pump and not the fuse so if you skip down to post #7 it gives the part number for the pump, just a standard pump nothing special. We have an ACE so could change through the front engine bay doors but yes it just pops out. Jim.

We finally replaced our washer pump. We were able to do it without taking out the fluid tank.
We wouldn't have tried it without reading about it on this forum.
We wouldn't have been aware of the defective pump without reading about it on this forum. We would be scratching our heads wondering what was wrong.
Thanks to all of you for sharing info on this forum.

More help please. I took the pump out, took it to Advance Auto and they ordered a new pump based off the part numbers you guys used. But on the replacement pump, he end where the plug prongs are, had a different configuration with an added hose fitting port. I was afraid it would't work. Anyone have some different part numbers? 2015 Vegas 24.1

We went to Ford & they ordered the pump.We also got the wrong one. We just thought he ordered the wrong one. But I checked online at Foreparts.com, and they wrong came up there too.
There's a Peterbilt parts store 10 minutes from our house. We walked in & gave them the old one, they gave us the new version. Looks the same. If you use the old part#, the new one should come up if you order online.
Unfortunately it cost about $40

I changed my pump,it pulls out and the new one pops in.Yes you have to crawl under the front bumper, but it is easily accessible. The pump that Advance auto and Ford stocks has a different connector.I got my pump from Thor. You might want to give them a call. They will know the correct pump to ship.
