Ventline Cable Range Hood

I've searched the world over...but I can't find the info I'm looking for.
I have a 2008 Dutchmen 31P Class C with a range hood issue. The hood is a Ventline cable operated 2 spd setup. Unfortunately the cable has come disconnected and some of the plastic is a bit melted. I just need to figure out how to remove the plastic panel cover so I can repair the cable assy. The panel has ears that engage slots in the metal but on the left side is would appear the panel has clips or something preventing me from sliding the panel over to clear the ears. Any help would be appreciated.

Your hood sounds like a similar model to mine (2005) and I removed mine to install a battery monitor. You might want to post a picture of yours. On mine i inserted a putty knife under the lower left corner and release just the left end from the clips. Then i carefully moved the whole panel to the right maybe 3/8" and it released. Yours might be different but from your description sounds similar.
Once released you access the cable and control lever. Oh yes...remove the plastic lever end first so you can slide the assy over the the lever. Just pull on it.

Now that i thought back a bit you slide the panel left to remove. Sorry i have crs. Still it will slide abount 3/8 " to the left to clear the clips.
