Leak around rear tailight lenses...wood rotting

On recent camping while pulling things from the rear of my Chateau 28Z I noticed some rotting wood. It appears that the rear taillight lenses have been leaking and the wood surrounding this area has rotted. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what was your solution?

Its a common problem. I used silicone to seal it when I first bought it. There is some epoxy you can inject into the wood if its not to bad. Its used often on boats.

Of course I did this before any water got in to rot it, though.

Flex Seal good idea, I may use it with an injectable epoxy

Yes, the one I used on my old wooden boat is "Git Rot". It is a penetrating epoxy and works well.

yep, mine was under warranty when discovered, and they replaced the entire back wall of my coach....
and still they use those horrible fixtures.

Oh, I have kicked myself countless times because I didn't have them use a different fixture when they replaced the wall. Went back with the same trash.

I am out of warranty but I think I have caught the problem before it is a major problem. I will know more this weekend when I have time to look closer. Plus the Epoxy product should be delivered by amazon tomorrow

You will get a better chance of stopping the rot it you remove the tail lights and let the area dry as much as possible. I store mine outside, so had to make a rain hood for each and let it air out for several days.
