Wally Receiver

I own a 2019 Thor Windsport. At Camping World we had installed a Dish HD Winegard. We included two Wally Receivers. We were informed that we could watch two separate channels at the same time. That is, one channel in the dinning area and a different Chanel in the bedroom. We have never been able to watch two separate stations. We can pair one remote, but not the other remote. One remote changes both televisions.
I called DISH, but they were unable to help. Referred me back to Camping World.
It seems like it might be a connection issue behind the Wally’s. Has any one experienced this problem before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kona Tom

Hi Kona Tom,
You didn't mention which dish you had installed. If it is one of the round plastic covered dishes or the Traveler type. The round covered dishes can only receive signal from one satellite at a time. They may allow 2 channels if they happen to be on the same satellite. The Traveler type will receive signals from all the satellites at the same time, but each Wally has to be wired to the dish individually. If only one coax is connected to the dish and split later in the wiring you will only get on channel.
Hope this helps,
Mike

Some of what you said is true, but not all.
It all depends on which Trav’ler he has (if he indeed has a Trav’ler.

The Winegard Hybrid Travler (latest model) has just one coax from the dish (plus the power cord).
In order to connect two or more Wally’s, each with it’s own programming…
you need what is called a DPH42 Power Inserter along with a 4-way splitter.
Then from the splitter, a coax runs back to the dish and is connected to Port C.

Thanks Mike, it’s a Winegard HD Dish. It’s not a round dome dish. We generally get three good satellites that register. I have two separate coax cables, one connected to each Wally. I think it’s a wiring issue, but probably need a diagram.
