Water Filter question

We have a 2016 Vegas 24.1 which we totally love. I wanted to add a water filter to the cold side of the sink thinking that all we really need to filter is our drinking water. Don't need it in the shower, hot water for dishes, or in the John. I went to install the filter and the water connectors in the RV are all backwards. I'd have to install the filter with the water flowing the wrong way.

So my other option is to hook it up to the city water when I'm a Snowbird but that won't help us when we boondock and use the water from the water tank.

So now I'm confused on what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing backwards about your RV connections. You simply bought a wrongly configured filter. Go to a hardware store and buy a few adaptors and away you go. Would have been much simpler to have purchased a in line filter and filtered it all. Nothing wrong with clean water in all your pipes.

So when I order more filters how do I know the correct configuration?

The filter you're installing is not exactly the first choice for drinking water.
I use one as a pre-filter on the rv water input.

Pick up one of these at Walmart for about $35 with either a charcoal or sediment filter cartridge & plumb under your sink or at the incoming RV connection.
Buy 2 then connect together 1 with charcoal for taste & the one before it with the sediment cartridge.
Filters also found at Walmart for $10-12 for a 2 pack they're good for 2 to 6 months depending on water quality.

I want to thank everyone for their input and I guess I'm off to Wally World to buy that filtering system cause the fittings under the sink are to small for the adaptors I bought at the hardware store. Oh well, lesson learned
