Water in the gas tank

I was warned not to mistake the gas inlet for the water fill inlet . They are located a few feet from one another on our new 31 -w. After a tow and a day waiting for 50 gal. of water and gas to be drained. Today I will go to the parts store and get a locking gas cap and give the keys to my wife.

Also if you have a diesel the DEF DOES NOT go in the fuel tank, it's 68% water.

DEF goes into its own tank. Fortunately, at least on ours, it doesn't seem to use much of it. I've been told DEF consumption goes up dramatically at idle.

So... are you saying an attendant put gas in your water tank or vice-versa?

I put Water into gas tank.. leaving state park. I discovered my mistake before starting motor . Mechanics were able to drain using fuel pump.

Try and look at it this way: you know what happened, so things can only get better from now on!

It would have been worse if you hadn't recognized your mistake and started the engine. Don't beat yourself up over it. Nothing that can't be remedied. Stuff happens. Best of luck to you in getting it squared away and enjoy your new coach.
