29FE awning won’t open

Second issue today with this gem. The awning won’t open. Doesn’t appear to have power though it’s raining so I can’t hear if it’s actually trying. The fuse appears to be fine. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks.

How about the wiring to the motor? (Or is it motors?)
Is everything connected?

The awnings usually have an inline fuse just behind the switch that could have blown. You also need to check your fuse box/panel inside to be sure it didn't trip.

If you have the Rapid Camp module installed try opening the awning with the Rapid Camp remote.

I had a similar problem in the spring on my 30FE. On mine there is a manual override that allows stowing in a pinch.
I got up by the head of the awning with a ratchet and socket and manually gave it a turn out two. Then I went down to activate the switch and the awning deployed.
It’s worked all summer without any problems.

Agree, try manually extending it if yours has that option, or using a jumper directly to the motor if it doesn’t. Your awning owners manual will have the backup procedure. I have come to believe the motors they use on these things don’t have a lot of excess capacity so if you’ve not been lubing your pivot points once in a while you might just be stuck.

Turns out it doesn't like to be wet. It had been raining and there was still much moisture in and around the awning. Perhaps the water shorted out something? In any case it's been working since. Thanks to all for the advice.

Sorry to hear about your awning issues. I had a similar problem on my Hurricane whereby the awning failed to deploy sometimes, but worked other times. My issue was a dead spot on the motor. I had to change the motor. No more problems. Good luck.
