Need Help! Transfer Switch Located? Thor Four Winds 22B

Need to know where is transfer switch and inverter is located for inspection? I’m suspecting one of them is fried.....Had smoke inside cabin while running generator and abruptly turned off. Now there’s no electricity and when I try to connect shore power cord to my house outlet, it trips GFCI....

Thanks

What kind of coach? You can try under bed if you have a bigger Class A. But as I just found out you might not actually have a transfer switch only an inverter with an internal switch

If you have an onboard generator and your coach was made after 2008, then you have a transfer switch. It is an RVIA requirement. On most plant 750 coaches, the transfer switch is usually under the bed. In coaches with four slides; usually, it can be found in the 1/2 bath with the power center.

I'm guessing they count the inverter transfer switch as good enough then because I just did a complete solar, battery and inverter install and found out we don't. All we have is the transfer switch in the inverter.

How can I slide out bed to get access with no plug in or shore power? Will not slide out with engine running... Bed platform covers entire access panel in closed position & close to wall giving small space to walk.

My Thor Four Winds in under the bed on my 45 footer. I can raise the wood platform holding the mattress and gain access in the storage hold under the bed. I just remove the storage area walls with 2 or 3 screws and everything is in reach. I do not need to roll the slide out to raise the bed albeit it would give more working room in the bedroom.

Good luck

If that were true, the shore power cord would be live anytime the generator was running.

Your DC system upgrades had nothing to do with the Shore Power/Generator Automatic Transfer Switch. Two separate systems and completely separate from the Automatic Transfer Switch in the inverter.

On my 2008 Four Winds Siesta 24SA it was located under the drawers and stove in the kitchen. It was on the floor at the bottom. Almost impossible to get to.

Hmmm! Interesting...? Puff of smoke was centered around the kitchen area. Will pull out drawers and check before I proceed to slide out. Thanks.

Update:
Called Thor today and did in fact verify TS is located under bedroom platform. Also, sent me a full electrical schematic of the RV.

Thanks peeps for all the advice and input! It’s time now to get to work......
