Water pump cycling too often

Recently we noticed our water system is not holding pressure. The pump cycles about once every 30 seconds. I thought at 1st it was the water pump check valve and so I replaced the water pump. This did not help. There are no water leaks. The only other thing I can think of is that the Anderson 4 way water intake valve has a leak internally and water is shunting back into the holding tank. Getting to the valve is a bitch but cartridge access is easy. Questions: diagnosis correct? 2: anyone know of parts source for the cartridge?

With no visible external leaks the Anderson valve internal leak is your next likely suspect and a common failure item.

Try adjusting the sensitivity of the pressure switch. Depending on the pump model it’s probably a screw atop the pump.

It doesn’t cost anything to try it. It worked for me when I bought a new pump on my last rig.

Update. I was able to find a new cylinder for the 4 way valve from Atlantic Marine (321-501-4262. I replaced the cylinder and the system now holds pressure and functions normally. Repair took and hour. I now have a new water pump as a bonus, probably not needed. Oh well.....

2nd idea is spot on. Exactly what happened to me. It took a stethoscope to hear the water passing through the Anderson valve.

The replacement valve is brass, The old one was plastic. You can order them from Anderson valve directly for $160. or RV parts dealer was $320.

I also have a spare pump now.
