Water pump issues

My water pump doesn’t turn off when I shut off the faucets. It continues to run until I turn the pump off at the console.
Of course I’m leaving tomorrow for a 5 day trip!
Any suggestions would be welcomed!

The pressure switch may be stuck open or the pressure switch needs adjustment.

Thank you for linking to that video!
If my pump is running continuously does that mean it isn’t getting pressurized?
Referring to the video would I need to adjust the screw clockwise or counterclockwise?

If it is indeed a pressure sensitivity issue. If the switch is set to low, then it will run continuously. If it's too sensitive it will cycle excessively. Just needs to be tuned to the sweet spot.

I had the opposite issue since I bought my coach. It was too sensitive so I needed to tone it down a bit so it ran smooth. I did find that if I turned the sensitivity down too much it would run non-stop.

Thanks again. I’ll give that a try tomorrow. Hopefully this simple fix will be all it needs. Fingers crossed!

Or you have a leak/open valve like at the outside shower.

Tfryman I checked for possible leaks and didn’t find any. Still doesn’t rule out the possibility, but if it’s leaking it’s not obvious.

Also, clean/check the filter(s) to the pump. Could be plastic debris from the tank in the whole system.

Thor in their infinite wisdom put this thing in a place that is almost impossible for me to reach. I was able to try adjusting the pressure switch screw but it didn’t work.
So I guess I will be forced to take it to the dealer to get it fixed when I return from my trip. We will just have to make do for the next 4 days.

I had same problem plus a river in the cabin. Tightened winterizing access plug, white, and tightened inlet screen line fitting. Thank goodness these clowns don't touch aircraft! Click image for larger version

Exclamation

this problem typically is a symptom of an 'air' leak within the system, but probably right at the water pump itself - make sure that each side(in/out) is very tight. And make sure the in-line filter, if any, is also tight.

any air leak, ever so slight, into the water lines around/near the water pump will create a situation where the pump's sensor thinks that you have a faucet open.

another scenario is this: some folks turn on their 'outside' faucet/shower, but then turn off the shower head's 'push button' off/on slider. This effectively turns off the shower head, but DOESN'T turn off the handle. Since the shower head is not designed to be 'air proof/leak proof', it can be a way in for 'leaky' air.
Make sure that both the outside faucet/shower HANDLES are off.(RIGHT)

Also make sure your low drains are closed. Shouldn’t overlook the obvious.

early on one of our first few trips out we ended up with a leak. Turns out that the strainer cap had been over tightened and cracked. It was either the factory or the dealer that would have done it. It was sucking in air whenever the pump would run.

While I was in there fixing that I found that the winterizing port plug was loose like yours.

I ended up having a new pump installed due to being pressed for time.
This makes the third water pump to be installed in my MH in the 13 months I’ve owned it.
I kept the old one and intend to have it checked out when I get home.
Thanks to everyone for your help.

at least it's not a huge expense, and while we think they should last forever, they rarely last as long as we'd like, anyway.

Glad to hear that things are getting back to "norbal".
When you have that pumped checked out: please let us know the results!
The best of luck to you with the new pump!
