Water pump not supply has water

I have a 2018 Thor Miramar and the water will not run when the pump is running, I can hear the pump and the inside water gauge shows zero but the water is not running and there is plenty of water in the tank

Did you check your water valve in the wet bay to make sure it is flipped to position to allow the flow of water from your tank to the pump? It should have a position to fill the tank, a position to draw water from the tank , a city water connection to allow city water to flow directly without filling the tank and a winterization position.

typically you have to turn a lever to get the water thru the water pump from the water tank

My RV has a valve at the freshwater tank to cut off the supply of water. Perhaps you have one also?

Ours does too, it cuts off the supply from the FW tank to the FW pump.
On city connection, I noticed my FW tank overflowing out the fill cap, from then on I close that valve when on city connection, and open it when not. Problem I had was solved.

Your level indicator lights show no level in the tank but you have verified that the tank is full?

I have 4 valves total

Winterizing and water source on the panel

Two more behind the panel

Check all the valves especially the ones near the pump

Be sure the valve position allows flow from the tank to the pump suction and the pump discharge is open to the coach

is the antifreeze valve closed? Check all connections at the pump. might be sucking air.

Most of the RV pumps have a strainer at the suction for debris left in the tank primarily

It can also be a source of a small air leak keeping a pump from priming

Water supply to pump

I had a problem with water supply to pump on our 2018 Vegas. Ended up being a piece of plastic that was cut in the water tank during assembly was blocking the supply line. RV shop had to remove tank in order to remove debris from inside tank (done under warranty). Good luck.

The value at the pump is off.

I had the same problem after taking my 2016 Miramar in for service and winterization. There's a quarter turn value inside the unit actually at the pump. Access was from removing a panel in one of the closets.

I constantly battle with the water strainer at the pump inlet. If you tighten too tight they tend to crack and you can tell because they get wet and drip. The other issue is the seal between the clear stainer cup and the black body is junk. As a result the pump won’t prime cuz it sucks air. I find a few turns of Teflon tape on the black threads gives a good enough seal to have the pump work for a while. I took my strainer into Tractor Supply and got an o-ring that seals where the black/clear mate is. I also carry an extra strainer with me.
