Water pump recommendations
Our water pump in the Class C 28z sounds awful- surging and knocking all over the place. I know it is a PIA under the bed so I want to be ready before going in 2-3 times. Recommendations on a new pump and accumulator?

Wow? so long and no recommendations? I guess everyone that replaces it has it done? I saw this Title, and thought oh great, I can see what people are using. I too would like some recommendations, but if not I'll just read the internet

I had a Shurflo pump cease and had it replaced under warranty , the dealer who installed it also mounted it on a mouse pad for sound deadening and that did make it quieter. You are lucky where your pump is located mine is in a compartment behind a door with two screws and very difficult to check the strainer and the other odd thing is that the slide controller is in the same compartment, I just hope nothing goes wrong as I would have to take out the outside shower to get at the controller.

Wow! and I thought mine was in a bad spot, being all around the heart of the electrics and electronics. Thanks for the reply, I like the mouse pad idea.
Mine is to the side of the picture and look what's all around it!

Mine is in the wet bay, and is super easy to access.

I have used SHURflo pumps for years, usually just the basic model with good results
Carried my spare now for 5 years and still don't need it and luckily it is in the wet bay but in a fairly tight spot
They have the higher capacity and super quiet models also

In my Vegas, Thor installed the water pump with a solid piece of pipe directly from the pump. When it failed and I bought a SureFlo, the directions said to install it with a piece of flexible hose between the pump and the pipes. Made a world of difference in noise and vibration and longer life.

Interesting, mine does have a braided tubing between the tank and the suction strainer screws into the pump suction
Makes sense to have a bit of vibration dampener instead of a sounding board

Related:
Our water pump doesn't make enough noise bother with
But
I have a in line fuel pump(it's almost exactly like a water pump but smaller) on one of my machines which went from rattling the rafters to all but silent by suspending it in a bungie cord sling.
No sounding board, no sound.
The mouse pad is an excellent start.

You have two options...
1) replace the pump
2) repair the pump (normally the diaphragm goes bad and the motor is still good)
I did both so that I now have a replacement
I’ve attached the Parts for a Vegas/Axis below that can be found on Amazon, but yours looks to be the same:
SHURflo-Revolution-Water-Pump-4008-101-A65
SHURFLO-94-800-01-Water-Valve-Assembly
PS ~ and while you’re at it, suggest that you add an accumulator tank. It’ll be the best mod you’ve made. Keeps the water flowing smoothly with less pump run time.

water pump / accumulator
OK, so I am now not fully convinced it is my pump. I have more of a hammering when I turn any water on. I have an accumulator, had it for about a year now, so perhaps I'll install that first to see if the hammering stops. A pump that I looked at is about 90.00 so the accumulator I have, I'll try it first. OH, and I noticed that my existing pump has no flex hose neither side in or out. So perhaps I'll add a flex hose as well. In the manual it even says to install a flex hose on both sides. Hmmm, guess that was an oversight.

OK, so it turns out that I do not need a water pump. I installed the accumulator yesterday. Filled my tank with water. Put some paper towels under my fittings that I made (best way to check for leaks) and turned it on. No leaks and best of all ALL hammering is gone! Sounds better than the day I bought it! Thanks all who contributed.
