A second winterizing question lol

First of all my 22fe was soooo easy to winterize. Pop the panel off below the reach thru closet and there is the water pump. There is an inlet set up for drawing antifreeze into the system. the great thing is there is also a valve so no antifreeze goes in the fresh water tank. So here is my question. I have seen discussions on putting antifreeze into the hot water heater. Most err on the side of not doing it. Can anyone explain why? Is it the glycol?

As long as you remove the water heater tank drain plug and completely drain it, no need to put antifreeze in the water heater as you would just be wasting antifreeze. The water heater bypass exists so no antifreeze is wasted entering the water heater when you run antifreeze thru the water lines assuming the owner completely empties the water heater via the drain plug.

Yeah that's what I did. Drained the water heater with the plug and set the bypass valves. I was just curious.
