Water tank (potable) tank heater?

We have a 2016 Challenger (used). Anyone know if it has a water tank heater and how it works? Leaving in the cold (South Dakota) headed for warm (San Antonio). Need to know if I can fill the tank or wait till I’m in warmer weather.

Not sure on your unit, but if it has tank heaters there will be a switch located among the other switch on your control panel. I could be wrong on this but I think the tank heaters are only for the holding tanks (grey, black) not fresh water.

If it was me, I wouldn't put any water in any tanks or lines until I hit warmer weather, and I mean temperatures that stay above freezing all the time until I reach my destination. Use water jugs, milk cartons filled whatever you have to use for flushing, washing hands, whatever. Use campground water for showering, it shouldn't take you more than two or three days to get far enough south to be in warmer temperatures.

I agree with "be happy": look for switches. If you don't see any: keep the tank empty until you find warmer weather.

Good luck!

Made contact with Thor Motorcoach

They advised that the furnace is duct into the holding tank and waterlines. So as long as the furnace is running they’re heated.

Thanks for all the input! I rally appreciate it.

Most Thor Motorcoaches have internal water lines and all tanks and the dump valves are heated by the propane or diesel fuel. I know mine is heated that way. There are no heat pads on any of the tanks. If you keep the furnace set to 70 degrees or better and do not use any electric supplementary heat the coach should be fine down to about 10 degrees F.

You might want to keep this in mind:
Those coach furnaces burn a whole lot of propane...
