What is this?

My first year with a MH and I found this hanging in the propane compartment.
Googling the picture it appears it has something to do with the slide out. I'd appreciate any information about its' use. Thanks.

Mystery part

It stops your slide from falling off.

With the slide out look at the underside of the floor. You will see a giant slot with metal walls. Should be 2. That white piece in your photo should be attached and is a stopped to prevent the slide from going out too far. Pretty strange to find it out of place.

Thank you to HMCSW, 16A27 and Trophy 1200 for your answers. I didn't have any issues with the slide out this summer thankfully, and now it's stored for the winter. So, when I get it out in the spring I'll get under it & find out what's going on. Thanks again.

Access

There may be access plates under sofa or dinette that allow access to reinstall.

I've considered this.
It has to have been removed from the rv for a reason.
The reason I come up with is a saggy or sloppy slide that contacted in a negative way with that part.

Look for scrapes and gouges on slide but especially on this part.

Report back.

Don't try to reinstall until checking with us.

How so?

If you thinking a cleat for mooring a boat, I don't think so. But with that said, I have been on some docks with no cleats and I would certainly love to have that versus nothing to try to make it work for intended purposes

For OP, unless your boat is covered and sealed, seems like now would be the best time to have checked out in the event a repair is needed? That way in the Spring you will be good to go?

USO? Unidentified Soliditated Object:

Looking at your pic leaves me less than informed. To answer, I'd need a different perspective. Perhaps from 3-4 feet away, showing where this object is located. No support for anything other than your propane tanks should be in that space. Propane is flammable. Having any other support there would pose a safety risk.

Typo, I meant RV

I got pleasantly distracted to my boat, don't look like the kind of cleat I would moor to. I am use to pushing my mooring line in the opening between dock and cleat and then running the loop over the wings of the cleat. Maybe some slides with a henway may use such a fixture?

I still have the fancy braided warps(in the correct maroon to match the biminis) from my Bennington and PlayCraft pontoon days.

I have one line here that is the wrong color but is made of strictly elastic.
Half inch around, when you wrap a cleat with it it sucks in damnably tight without jerking harshly on my delicate boat side pop-up cleats. I've never seen a bungy jump line but this might be one.
I should probably find a use for them. I know a horse person who might want them as leads.

If the pictured item is a mooring cleat it's from a homemade 55gallon plastic barrel dock somewhere in bubbaland.(not that there's anything wrong with that.)
That's some wild overkill for a cleat

See boat cleats and a tie down. One man docking crew

The worst thing about RV'ing is less time for being on the lake. At the Marina extended warranties were never a thing. People almost joyfully had glee when they had boat issues. Everyone would say BOAT means Bring On Another Thousand. My RV has certainly been with fewer issues than my boats.

If I could only figure out a way to tow the boat with the RV. Actually I should say get the boat in the water when we travel with the RV

That gets bolted to the floor un the slide out behind the driver seat and as described fits in the opening in bottom of slideout floor to hold slideout incase of rollover, If it doesn't have any scratches or marks on it and you have one bolted to the floor each of the 2 slots under slideout floor it may have been left there from factory oops.

I gave my fancy ropes to the local horse lady to utilize into fancy horse leads.
Maybe something worthwhile came from this thread.

jpzlaw, I think most of the regulars know what a henway.

I was just trying to help OP on how that part may be used in context of a slide. See picture below of a camper that looks to me to have a permanent hen way? Now granted this may only apply to fulltimers, but if a hen weigh 2 - 3lbs, there may be a limit on how many they may have on top of the slide.
