What is this wire? (24.1)

Anyone know what this wire is and what it is supposed to do? It is located behind the gray water tank and has been cleanly cut. Everything seems to be working (have not tested the heating pads).

Wow! Does it have any current running thru it? How large a wire (size)?

Could it be the wire to heat the holding tanks?
When on our recent trip, Ron found a wire had come loose, and taped it back in place. Once again, good reason to bring Duck/Gorilla tape along !!

Cosmo,

That looks like the wire that should be run into the second (rear)storage bay under the outside TV. That bay has a hookup for electronics to the outside TV. If you lay on your back, "slide" up under the side of the RV below the 2nd bay and look up to the top rear corner you can see where a cable like that goes. See Picture 1.

Picture 2 is all the wires that go into that spot (have to use your cell phone, extend your arm up and take blind pictures until you get a good one).

Thanks for the replies - did some more investigation.

Looks like 12 (maybe 14) gauge wires - black, green, white. It enters the rv behind the black tank and in front of the rear left wheel well. No voltage even when I turn on the tank heaters. But the tank heaters don't seem to be warm to the touch ( are they supposed to be? ).

DocMike - my wire bundle into the second storage bay looks like yours, but I will test all the TV functions.

Guess I will send to the photo to Thor and see what they say.

Black, white, green? Black=hot, White=neutral, Green=ground.

Any chance they are 3 of the wired for the towing 7-way plug?

Sadly Thor has been no help with this. I filled out their form - no response. So a week later I called and the answer was it not important because it does not have a connector (maybe it was cut off?). But if I send a picture, they will figure out what its for. Sent the picture and no response. Guess I won't worry about it.

That would be my guess: trailer wiring, or outside TV (but if yours has the outside TV then No since those wires should be connected).

You could try to follow it: perhaps the other end is also disconnected..then I'd remove it.
