What's This?

Opened my pull-out sofa on my 2018 Vegas 24.1, to see about replacing it with a sofa recliner. We have used it only once as a bed, so it has not been opened for a couple of years. I found this stain on the floor with what looks like the pink antifreeze, but I'm not sure about it. Has anyone had this type of problem? I cannot find any water leaks, there is no sign of water leaking in, and whenever I have a strong rainfall or wash RV, I check for leaks, and find nothing.

No doubt you have a leak coming from somewhere. Is it still damp? If so it will continue to spread and will rot that wood. Find out what is behind that soon.

Looks like a drunk wine drinker passed out on the sofa one too many times.

You're right It must have been the guy building it, any empty wine bottles rolling around?

It maybe condensation from the window gathering and dripping down, but maybe a leak through the window. Water seeks the lowest point it can find. Spray the window with a water hose from all angles for several minuets to fine out. Let everyone know what you found out. Make sure you get the spray at the top down into the window seal and from the front well.

When I removed our mattress for winter storage this year I found some staining of the plywood platform and rusted screws where the platform abuts the wall. It's minor, and I can't find any leaks. We had a couple trips with near freezing temps which required a lot of heater use.

I'm guessing it was caused by condensation under the mattress in that area.

If yours is condensation, be sure to carefully check for mold...

Winterizing stain

My guess is that is RV antifreeze that leaked out from the outdoor shower faucet when it was winterized? If the floor isn’t soft from repeated leaks I wouldn’t worry about.

This may just be something spilled on the plywood at the plant, 😄 Watch it but don’t worry too much if it doesn’t change.

Why would you remove your mattress in the winter?

Mice, rodents and/or general vermin looking for a nice toasty winter nest.

1) Did you buy it used? If so, maybe someone stored a jug of antifreeze under there and left the cap loose.
2) Are there any water lines back there? Loose fitting?
3) Is fresh water tank back there? Antifreeze stored in tank leaked out?
4)

I generally look at the surrounding bolts, no corrosion on the big seat belt bolt going thru the floor and the angle bracket intact. Give it a good cleaning, at least they cleaned up saw dust, mine was full of saw dust, etc.

slide underneath the RV and give that area a good look. Make sure the floor panels have not delaminated.
