Where is the BIRD?

2015 Vegas My alternator was not charging my house bank. I determined that the control power was feeding into the thrombetta but the voltage on both sides of the unit were different with the engine running after a couple of minutes. 14.2V on the engine side and 11.9V on the coach side. the "USE switch in "USE" position. So I determined that the thrombetta relay was bad. Ordered a new one. My question is: where is the BIRD located on the unit. (for future problems) It's just one of those mysteries that I need to solve.. Thanks for any input on this

The BIRD is near the Trombetta under the hood. Are you sure you have a Trombetta/BIRD? Check the fuse box in the outside storage area under the driver's seat you might have the Battery Control Center instead.

Here’s a picture of the BIRD in my 2016 Axis - right next to the Trombetta. If you have a BIRD rather than a BCC and the Trombetta does not fix your problem, check the voltage on the orange wire coming out if the Trombetta. It should read the same as your chassis battery. If it does not, it may be hooked up incorrectly (as one of mine was from the factory). That wire senses the charge on the chassis battery to open and close the Trombetta

To post a photo go to “Additional Options” below, pick “Manage attachments”,
On next page Add a photo, pick a photo out if your photo album, upload photo button, close window (at top) which will take u back to your post. Then write your piece and post it.

Look next to your Trombetta and see if you have a BIRD there. If you do not, you have a BCC, but I do not, so I don't know where it is located or what it looks like.

The BCC is inside the fuse panel in the driver's outside storage bin--if you have one.
