Radio Antenna

2019 Axis 25.6

I was up on the roof installing a power vent and noticed the Radio antenna looks to be broken off.

I tried drilling out the center, to remove the part that’s a different color, but that didn’t work.

My question is can I unscrew the gray color part to install a new antenna or do I just install a windshield antenna.

Thanks

Erv

Yes, the grey part "should" unscrew. Then get a universal replacement antenna that comes with various size screw-in lugs. May work better than OEM - mine did.

Ted, I couldn’t get that suggestion to work.

I had 2 pairs of pliers and couldn’t get a very good grip on the base on account of the rubber.

The base started twisting and breaking the rubber, so I stopped.

After that I put DICOR around the entire piece to make sure it doesn’t leak.

Looking at Windshield antennas now.

Thanks

Might be worth taking all the caulk off and see it that makes it easier to remove. Once the caulk is removed it might unscrew at the base
