where is the electric switch for hot water heater

I have a 2004 Thor Citation Travel trailer 38ft.
just bought it 3 weeks ago and im a newbie, We have it stationed in southern NJ where i have electric.
currently i have my hot water heater running on propane. i checked in side for a toggle switch from propane to electric and cant find it. i found a light switch under the cabinets above the stove that says hot water heater on/0ff but someone told me there is a toggle switch that has to be turned on before this switch would work.
Does anyone know where i can find this?
thank you
chas

Are you sure your water heater is propane/electric or propane only?

Often, propane/electric is an option, and propane only is usually installed as standard equipment.

im not sure of this,
i have a propane switch near the panel to turn on, then there is a ligt switch that has been on the off but says hot water heater.
i tried to shut the propane switch and then turn the other switch but after a while the water got cold so i shut that off and put back on the propane switch.
if i take off the panel outside by the hot water heater is there a way to see if its possible.
thank you
chas

On my main panel, I have both a propane and 120VAC on/off switch for the water heater. But my water heater is propane only, so I am sure the 120VAC switch is unused - for an electric/propane option that I don't have.

A lot of hot water switches have a rectangular red light beside it. The light goes out when your heater is lit. Mine is by the kitchen sink

No - the thermostat is non-adjustable for tanked water heaters.
