And the breaker would be in a breaker panel, not in the bathroom.

My propane detector got in habit of just sound off at all times of the day or night. I could disconnect all power th the rv and all would be fine for a couple of days. I finally just took a pair if side cutters and cut the wires going to it. Now no ear piercing noise.

ours was behind the panel the detector was mounted to, they spliced a fuse into the factory provided 12volt and then that little harness was used for the lp detector. this way the only way power was removed is when batteries are shut off at mains on battery .

Did you ever have anyone verify that you don't have a propane leak? If not, please have it checked. Assuming no leak, why don't you just replace the propane detector? Depending upon age, the mfg may replace for free? But I would not spend ANY time or allow any of my family ANYwhere near that RV until I know my Carbon Monoxide and LP Propane gas detectors are working.

Hair spray, room air freshener, Dog Farts will set them off. NEVER disconnect one . Replace it. They do have a life span of about 7 years. They have a date on the back.

The detector will also alarm for low house batteries as they connected directly to them.
As others have mentioned, cutting the wires was a VERY poor solution to a possibly very serious problem, replace the detector or find the cause for it alarming, DO NOT sleep in there until it's back on in working order.

every thing the above...i had a rotty that used to lay near the detector by the fridge, the heater kept the floor warm there, one time x 20 she would pass wind and set it off. She would leap into the air like a ghost grabbed her. it was funny as you know what

Hopefully he did not try to test the idea to simply snip the wires & disconnect the LP Gas Detector first.
