Wind noise

My wife and I recently purchased a new 2024 Thor Resonate and the first time out we noticed the sound of wind that seemed to come from around the windshield. We communicated it to the dealership and they had no explanation. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and advice. Thanks

I suspect you'll soon discover that you will need to do most of the diagnostic work on your new motorhome. Thor seems to be like the computer industry - ship it and let the consumer find the bugs...

A couple of tricks to finding the source of the noise is to tear some tissue paper into long thin strips and hold then around the perimeter of the windshield. If the tissue flutters it is likely due to air infiltration. Another way is to use a 2' to 3' length of 1/2" hose as a "stethoscope". It won't amplify the sound but with one end near your ear and the other end aimed at any suspect areas it'll narrow down the source.

Having figured out where it's coming from, getting it fixed is another whole issue. Good luck...

Is it from the windshield or the side windows? On my Hurricane, the side windows get noisy when the furry tracks need cleaning.

Yes, mine started on this trip. But my wind noise is a loud whistling noise. I have a 2023 Thor Palazzo.

I used my leaf blower to identify a whistle on our Aria. That might work for you.

I heard a similar wind/whistling noise, it was my air conditioner vent. when it was fully closed, it had this whistling wind noise. Probably not your issue but just thought I’d mention it. Good luck!

No, it’s definitely coming from the front windshield area. I just haven’t pinpointed exactly where yet.

I have a Thor hurricane 34f and I have a wind vibration noise at varying speeds. It appears to be wind related but can’t find the source for the life of me. I have sealed everything I could, opened the A-pillar and stuffed it with foam and still have a wind vibration. Anyone relate to that?

I once had a problem with wind noise around the one piece windshield of a large motorhome. I got a roll of wide painters tape and would tape off a section of the windshield and drive at 65 MPH until I located the source of the air leak.

It took a year but the dealer finally fixed ours. It was coming from the entry door. I have a friend with a db meter and was able to show the dealer exactly where it was.

I found out it was the plastic grill cover. Put foam behind it and taped it up and noise gone. Now looking for a new grill cover.
