Windshield repair yourself?

Just got an email from NAPA that had JB Weld info on self windshield repair kit. Was the first I had heard of it and thought I would pass it along and which help someone who has a nick or crack that could be repaired or slowed down until you can get a replacement. I live in FL where there is no deductible on glass, and am waiting on a replacement now. Wish I had known about this in W. TX when a stone hit the windshield. I used packing tape to try and stop more cracking until I could get home. Below is a link with info.

Thanks! It might just help to get someone to a friendly port for repairs!

But I bet that someone will try and use it to make a permanent repair...

Putting tape over a star is a good idea. I’m not sure it will keep it from cracking, but several window repair guys have told me that covering one and getting it fixed ASAP greatly improves your chances of a successful repair. When dirt gets into the crack, the bonding material does not work as efficiently so your chance of a good repair decreases. I too live in FL with no deductible on glass and my Insurance company found a repair place in Alaska while I was on one of my trips there and paid for the repair - up front.
