Windsport 29M on fire

I'm pretty sure this is a Windsport 29M

Does anyone know about this?

I'm wondering how it caught fire?

Flat back cap, so it is an ACE or Freedom Traveler Passengers side back storage compartment swings to the side, but with outside kitchen it swings upward.

Looks like it started up front, engine or wiring problem.

You are right! It's definitely a Thor nonetheless.

Scary

Fires are my biggest worry, followed by full wall slide stuck in extended position. Looks similar to my ACE 2015 bunkhouse with full wall slide. Gas fill is not centered on rear, which I think happened in 2016 and later models.
Hope everyone ended up ok.

My wonder is how did it happen? So we can all prevent that!

We have a new Windsport 35M and one night with the AC on auto and a cool night the heater kicked on and the fire alarm went off. We freaked out!

Fire certainly is a fearful thing. But you needn’t worry too much about a stuck slide. Even a big full wall slide has a manual retract procedure. You just need to find it and print out a set of instructions to have with you. Or, better still, practice it a time or two on a nice day when you have the time. When my biggish slide failed it was threatening rain and I needed to be 500 miles away. Once I figured out the procedure it was a simple 20 minute process for me to push it in by myself. Depending on your system and your slide you might need several helpers but it’s really not difficult or scary. You can buy or make a simple slide lock to hold the slide in while you travel after a manual retract.
