Windsport Exterior Lights

Hello all,

New to the Forum and new to Thor. We picked up our 2015 motor coach a few days ago - traded in a 2011 Winnebago Via for the Windsport.

My question has to with front exterior lighting. Just below the hi/lo beam light array are two smaller lights in side-by-side compartments - with two different lenses. The outer light is the parking, turn signal, and emergency flasher lamp. The inner one seems to have no function even though it has a bulb in it and a wire harness that runs off somewhere. Same on both driver and passenger sides. These lights are not daytime running lights (the low beam headlight at low intensity does that) and are not fog lights which are below. My dealer is not helpful and two calls to the Thor rep went to voice mail.

Can anyone help?

That's interesting.

In an effort to standardize, the Hurricane and Windsport models are assembled on the same assembly line, in the same factory, by the same employees.

And, they share the exact same wiring harnesses, and parts, (except for the front and rear end caps).

They should be parking lights, (at the same intensity as the bulbs in the outer lenses). They would be wired in parallel with the same circuit that the parking light bulbs in the outer lenses are wired to.

Thanks, Beacher.

Thor tech support says the lights are "Auxilliary Driving Lights" and that they can - optionally - be connected to the Daytime Running Light circuit, for a cost of 5 hours labor at the dealer. Since the low beam headlights - at low intensity - serve as DRL not many owners opt to have this done.

It sounds fishy to me . . .
