Winter battery maintenance

Still cold in Colorado. Replaced 4 house batteries and 2 chassis batteries. Moved MH , (Pallazo 33.2 )
to house from storage lot. I have it hooked up to 50 amp shore power.
Will this make liquid evaporate from batteries ? How often should I check fluid. Temps down to single digits this week. If HOA dosent complain will keep it here for another month because storage lot does not have power.

I would check every other if not monthly. That reminds me to go and check mine.

Agree with above...as long as you're not cycling them up and down often (boondocking scenario) once a month is fine. Most everything 12V is at rest while on shore power. What kind of batteries did you purchase and why that brand?

Living in a colder climate makes a very strong reason to go with AGM'S

They need monitoring unless they are completely disconnected

Good luck

Dekka house batteries on advise from mobile RV repair man who tracked down the blown 150 amp stud mount fuse.
Chassis batteries are from Napa, who matched size and cc amps.

I like the AGM's as they can freeze and not burst the battery should it run completely down

Really didn't have much luck with Gel but they were in a GEM car

A flooded cell only freezes one time,

Battery box

Inquired about gel and dry cell with no luck due to difference in the dimensions. I will try to attach a photo of the battery box showing just how tight the fit.

I installed Trojans T105 AGM to get away from corrosion and cold weather problems

So far they have been excellent
Good luck with your coach

I’ll need to replace my 6V batteries this spring. Looked at Trojan AGM but they cost twice as much as the flooded ones. I’m thinking I’ll go with Batteries Plus Duracell Ultra flooded cells. Same rating, same warranty and only about $95 each.

Yes, they run about 250 if you get a good deal

Data sheet should be attached
