Wiper blades for Axis-Vegas

Just wondering if anyone found/needed replacement wiper blades for your Axis or Vegas. Been to all the auto parts stores locally and have found none that will fit the 12 x 4 J hook arm ( I think is the size). J hook arm is to wide for most of the standard blades handled by the local stores.

I am not in immediate need of replacement, but may not be to far off in the future and I would rather have them on hand than have to hunt and then pay way to much for them.
TIA

I looked for a replacement all over Alaska and Western Canada this summer including truck and bus shops to no avail. I finally found three in a Thor Dealer in Montana and bought all three. The problem is not only that you cannot find one long enough, but the J Hook on the Vegas is too large to fit into any replacement blades .... and I tried a lot of them. The company that makes the replacement that does fit is Tru Vision, PO Box 4112, Elkhart, Indiana, 46514-0112. Tel. 574-266-9430. The model # is TV8-32, their 32" model. If you can order them or find them in stores somewhere, please put it in a post.

Just saw the other wiper blade post for Ace. Looks like PPLMotorhomes.com sells them. The TV8-32 are listed under Tiffin Allegro 07-09.

Since original post the other day, I have looked hi and lo for the wipers also to no avail. Just returned from Camping World who sells the Vegas and they did not have the correct wipers. Measured a few wipers on the new Vegas and they are installing 28" wipers instead of the 32" that I have. Glad to read you guys found a supplier and item #. I had pondered how I could machine the arm down to a standard width so the $10-15 wipers could fit, but looks like it may be more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks again for the info.

Oneilkeys, after you posted the maker and item #, I did some more searching and ordered a pair of TV8-28 instead of the 32's for $22.59 ea. with $7.95 S&H. Was the best deal I could find from: rvupgradestore.com Will most likely work just as well and may be less load on the wiper motor than the 32". The passenger side wiper hangs over the edge of the windshield now.

The 28's should work fine. I was willing to buy 28's when I thought that I could use regular after market ones, but when the dealer had 32's my wife wanted them because she already complained that the wipers did not clean her side...

Wipers for southrn Indiana

It's been so long since it has rained here that I had my wipers removed. Don't need them here.

Same here. Got the 3rd degree from my wife over changing to the 28" until I mentioned 28" wipers were standard on the 2016 Vegas.

Usually not needed here in FL also, although we have been having frequent showers lately.
Mainly wanted another set of wipers for travels in another place where they will be needed and very hard to find. Been there and had that happen. And it is becoming clear that the wipers for the Vegas-Axis are not that easy to find and not inexpensive.

Yes, they are available at a good many online places and a few store fronts, but the prices are way up there and it takes some searching to find a lower price. I guess it is the demand or lack thereof that sets the price.
Also, TV said they only sell the whole arm and blade-no refills although it would be easy to insert a refill blade. Seems such a waste to throw away a perfectly good assembly.
Was talking to a NAPA mgr. the other day who said that it sure would be nice to standardize the wiper attachments into maybe 3 or 4 categories.

We had issues with the wipers on our previous Class A coach, and learned that a coating of Rain X made the wipers almost unnecessary. On the highway, rain just slides off. When you do use the wipers, they seem to drag less. After applying and wiping off, a microfiber cloth is good for removing haze residue. Part of my departure checklist now!

We have had so little rain here that on the way home from Ga to NC this past weekend when I got into rain (the first time since we purchased the RV in May15) I forgot where the on/off switch was! But after reading these posts I do plan to get some back-up blades.

Thanks to all for the info.

Good idea. Have used Rain X on the car windshield, but never thought about the RV. Although, that is a lot of windshield to polish. Most likely would get the buffer out for that one. IIRC, the buffing is the hard part. Briefly saw something similar in a store that said buffing wasn't necessary, but did not pay much attention. May take a look at that product.

New post to very old thread??

I have to wonder, can the software for this forum be configured to stop new entries to very old threads? Or, maybe a gentle reminder that a post to an old thread is not likely to receive any sort of response.

I'm sure it could but we don't have the horsepower and it's really not worth chasing it on this antiquated platform which is supposed to be undergoing an upgrade any day now (week, month, year).

If the info posted applies to the same topic as an other thread what’s the sense of operating a new thread?

Why?
Really, why?

I just purchased, for $12(normally $65), the linked wipers in an above post in this long dead thread.
It was due to this revival.

It seems a bit more than just a bit Karen-ish for you to have complained to the manager....

The revival post was relevant, your post certainly is not.
