Water infiltration Vegas 24.1

I found behind the stove/oven that the floor was wet, initially discovered that the outside fan trap was not properly sealed. Leak coming from that sector.


Is it possible that water could also come from the Refrigerator. ????



As anybody had experinece with that.

How is the wall there? Does it look like any water got in there? (If you winter it anywhere that it freezes those walls can swell up when the water inside can freeze--I've seen it.)

If the wall is ok, maybe the water isn't coming down from somewhere but coming up from underneath?

See attached picture, water was coming from outside vent.

Ah then once it was sealed and dried out did you see any other water?

The only water in the fridge would be water you put in there. However, if the roof vent isn't sealed you could get water in that way.

I did seal the fan and will investigate the roof vent, good point.


The wall is ok, as you see in the pictures the thing that worries me is part of the floor that was humid.



I revoved part of the vinyl flooring to let it dry , also using a fan.


Wondering if that will fix the issue, or small part of plywood will have to be replaced. Any suggestions or comments on how to deal with flooring issues like mine.

Honestly since I haven't had to deal with that I wouldn't know.

I would think that a good inspection should tell you if the plywood needs replacing (did it swell up? Is it coming apart?). Hopefully you caught it before any serious damage happened.

If you stopped the water intrusion, dried it out and the minor damage cannot be seen, I wouldn't go for redoing the woodwork. Keep your eyes on it but relish in the fact you caught it soon enough.

Does anyone know of a procedure on how to remove the kitchen cabinet from Vegas 24.1

No follow-up required, we did remove it

After removing the cabinet we were able to dry the floor with a small fan heather.
We will put a primer sealer on the presswood.
Problem we also found, is that the vinyl flooring is only stapled, so if there is water infiltration it stays trapped.
Just wanted to share my experience so others do not have to run into this.
Best way to learn isn't always the easiest.
