21 chateau 22 B bumper weight

Does anyone know the read bumper weight capacity to mount a small e-bike cargo rack to it that folds up? I have a hitch carrier but it doesn't fold as I am ordering one that folds up to make room. the two bikes weigh 40 each and the carrier is almost 50. thanks for any info.

I doubt there is a specification for the weight the bumper can carry. But two bikes plus the rack would weigh less than a small person so perhaps get on the bumper and jump up & down. If the bumper doesn't fall off that'll give you a good estimate. I think...

Static force is not the measurement you're concerned with. It's the vertical weight combined with bouncing incurred with normal driving. Thor isn't known for quality welding, and the bumper is... a bumper. So proceed with caution at your own risk.

……..in addition to the torque on the lever arm (rack) sticking out a couple feet. Could be kinda twisty on that bumper.

You can add bumper brackets that cradle bumper and bolt to frame where bumper is welded. They would only add a little extra if the bumper is the 4” tube type.

Maximum tongue weight is 400 lbs. The rear bumber does not have a wt rating. I have carried a bike rack or storage platform many times without a problem. I wouldn't attach much weight to the bumper itself.
