Not to encourage such behavior but all you have to do is break the switch off of the end of the actuator and turn it with anything slim and flat. You’d have to break off a plastic clip but the part only costs about $20. The key unlocks the actuator so it can turn the switch. Now you know!

If I remember correctly, don’t the JK’s have a smart key? Why not just cut a key and not program it. It will turn the tumbler but won’t start.

Alas, mine is a TJ and it’s from the era when Jeep’s were still rather spartan. Plain old key and plain old locks.
